WOOD FLOOR STAINING
On rare occasions, we come across some wooden flooring that is beyond restoration, however, that does not mean you need to consider an expensive replacement.
Staining your wood floors is a fantastic way to enhance their natural look, but not only that, it is also a great way to disguise flaws such as deep water staining, woodworm, or sunlight deterioration.

We will first deep clean your wooden flooring ensuring it is free from dust and dirt; the presence of which can cause ‘gaps’ in the staining process. Your preferred staining colour will then be applied. Depending on the depth of colour you wish to achieve, we will have to apply two or more coats using a water or oil-based stain, depending on the porosity of your wooden floors.
We will then determine what type of sealant and varnish will be required, based on the location and footfall of the flooring.
Wood floor staining can be undertaken on indoor and outdoor flooring and will increase the longevity of your hardwood and semi-hardwood floors.
Floor Stainer
It is important to choose a floor stainer that is practical and will compliment your current décor.
When choosing a stain colour for your wood floors keep in mind that darker colours will show more dirt and require more frequent cleaning than lighter shades would. It’s important to note that certain types of woods may not accept certain stains so we strongly advise you to arrange a consultation with us before you start considering what colour etc you may want us to use.
In general, we will also use a waterproof sealant on your floors after staining, along with a matt, satin, or high gloss lacquer to cease any ongoing damage and deter damage in the future.
